A tremcard is a transport emergency card listing the hazards and emergency information for dangerous goods or substances being transported. The tremcard is intended for use by the driver and/or emergency services, should an incident occur.
According to SABS 0232 (Emergency information systems for transporting dangerous goods and substances) it is required to carry a tremcard in a designated space in any vehicle that is transporting dangerous goods. A tremcard should be included for every dangerous goods item in the load.
A tremcard is reproduced on paper size A4 with red borders along the vertical edges. Each tremcard should be consistent with the latest addition of the European council of chemical manufacturers federations (Cefic) and must be in English.
A tremcard is considered valid for a period of 3 (three) years from the Cefic revision date that appears at the bottom of each tremcard.
Please note: Printing Tremcards from this website is illegal and will not be considered valid by traffic control services.
